Collaborative Racist Paintings
1. Cost of paint and panels are my financial responsibility;
2. The works should be done at minimal cost to the collaborator, and at limited/no cost to First Nations Collaborators;
3. Collaborators are to elect three colours from the seven Dulux Oriental colours and designate one was their primary colour, some may wish to also elect a design, this may alter their colour options;
4. I will paint a diptych based on their colour selection, one of the panels will be monochrome;
5. Once the panels are completed, they are posted to the collaborator to be completed;
6. The collaborator is to alter the monochrome board however they see fit that broadly relates to the notion of race, racism and/or colonialism. Alterations to the work may include:
Mounting a postcard or photo to the front of the board (sources include, eBay, hippostcard.com, your family photo album);
Painting or drawing on the board;
Make or find an object to mount onto the board;
Add text, collage images, add a quote; or pages from a book;
ANYTHING, but
If you have any questions about what you want to do, just ask!
7. Once the work is complete it becomes the property of the collaborator who has co-authored it;
8. The Collaborative Racist Paintings may be recalled for exhibitions in the future.
